A Hoot and A Half

This is a long-time-coming piece. It was originally inspired by a friend of mine from school years ago and I’ve always wanted to do something with it. I finally was motivated to do it after drawing too many fat owls, I didn’t know what to do with them. The boy in the tree slightly resembles myself in a weird way, it was not intentional.

Happy Belated Birthday Marli

This is an overdue birthday present for my friend Marli. It’s an illustrated version of her little ‘goofball.’ He’s a 1.5 year old quaker parrot!

Editorial Attack!!

I have been trying to revamp my portfolio with some editorial pieces as that tends to be the direction I have always found myself going in the illustration world. These pieces are all inspired by various articles I have found online. Thoughts?


This first piece is based on an article by Zosia Bielski titled: Popping the question in the digital world.


The second is an article by Gordon Hamilton titled: Environment on mind for beer brewers.


This last piece is based on an article about Open marriage: Who does it, how it works and why
it doesn't by Tralee Pearce.

Online Einstein

This piece was actually inspired by an article that I read about how soon Einstein’s personal thoughts and documents will be published online. I thought it was interesting just because he will be ‘alive’ once this is published because everything about him when he was alive will be available to us. I wanted to basically illustrate that his ‘being’ will soon be the internet.

The New Coming of Winter

This is a piece I finished about a month and a half ago for a group project that is soon to be unveiled. I decided to go digital for this I am pleased with the outcome. The inspiration for the image came from this book I own called 'The Old House Book'. I was just flipping through the pages and I saw this shot of a red cabin in the winter. The rest is history.

Let me first start off by blowing some dust off my blog. -Ahem-

My life has just been absolutely crazy since moving back to Ottawa and I have put a lot of my life on hold as a result. I am currently working at Bell in the internet technical support department and that's mostly where my time is going. My hours are really messed up and because of that, I am often not very inspired to do work when I get home. Luckily, it's autumn and I always get so inspired during the fall season. So finally I was able to come up with some ideas for a new piece and here it is!

I spent the entire day yesterday searching for inspiration and I finally found it. I am quite pleased with how it turned out. I think my most favorite holiday event would be Halloween, which is why it's only necessary I do an illustration inspired by it :)!
